More Drug Courts Proposed for Louisiana
Two Louisiana Senate committees have unanimously approved a bill that would require faster drug testing for certain crimes that could also help establish more drug courts in Louisiana and a new way to pay for them. Drug courts remove defendants from the traditional court setting, offering them rehabilitation instead of time in prison.
Read more about the initiative that would help smaller Louisiana parishes create specialty courts in their localities here.
